Jul 02 2009

What was expected to be an empty boring pre-holiday trading all of a sudden turned into very nice profitable day. ELN, AIG, ILMN, MTXX, and even had a chance for a quick educational overview of AIG trap - look the log around 10:48, right after we finished AIG bounce play.

06[10:46] * Threei pats himself on the back
[10:46] {BillyD} we should have a pat on the back button
[10:47] {Threei} {_johnnyj} but your feel for the market was amazing
[10:47] {Threei} still is!
06[10:47] * nemo slaps Threei around a bit with a large "Good on ya' DUDE!!!"

[10:48] {nemo} Only problem now, is he's spent so much time slapping himself on the back his shoulder is permanently dislocated
[10:48] {magoo} nie vad ty
[10:48] {BillyD} AIG was low risk
[10:48] {Threei} just too bad we haven't shorted that trap attempt of breakout at 19
[10:48] {Threei} how is it a problem nemo?
[10:48] {Threei} frees me from garden work
[10:48] {jfjf64} was big trap i hd finger on trigger
[10:48] {nemo} yeah, you can drink with your other hand
[10:49] {nemo} doesn't help your typing though
[10:49] {jfjf64} thinkin lk a sucker
[10:49] {Threei} quick educational retreat jf,
[10:49] {BillyD} .35 ELN short earlier making me cry
[10:49] {nemo} then again, nothing could help your typing
[10:49] {Threei} take a look at 1 min,
[10:49] {Threei} I will try to show why I hated it
[10:49] {jfjf64} k 1 min up
[10:50] {Threei} draw mentally the declining line from the top at 19.5 and next top of the bounce around 19.25
[10:50] {BillyD} nice pt Vad
[10:50] {Threei} see how that bounce into 19 runs right into that linbe?
[10:51] {BillyD} there is our education lesson for the week
[10:51] {Threei} what we have is established downtrend on one min,
[10:51] {Threei} and stock bounces into upper line of the channel.
[10:51] {Threei} Now,
[10:51] {Threei} have a look at volume
[10:51] {Threei} from 10:31 to 10:40
[10:52] {Threei} see how volume decreases on this bounce?
[10:52] {Threei} perfect bear flag running into descending channel resistance
[10:52] {jfjf64} see
[10:53] {Threei} absolute trap for breakout buyers - UNLESS stock stalls here and consolidates long enough to ruin the descending channel formation
[10:53] {Threei} now, realize one thing here,
[10:53] {Threei} not practically important right now but something to remember for the future
[10:53] {BillyD} Vad, do you have chart patterns on your website
[10:54] {nemo} short on eslr working
[10:54] {Threei} at the moment of you asking or me looking for other reasin at the chart I am not able to put it all in words
[10:54] {Threei} I just see it as a general perception from the look of the chart
[10:54] {nemo} that's where your 3rd eye comes in
[10:54] {Threei} if you want me to break it down, it will happen kater, not in the "heat of the battle"
[10:54] {BillyD} just curious....I see what u are saying
[10:54] {Threei} and that's what you want to arrive at eventually
[10:55] {Threei} threough many trades and charts and analysis, it wil be come kind of second nature
[10:55] {Threei} no Billy
[10:55] {jfjf64} comon billy ya broke his stride lol
[10:55] {Threei} they are quite standard
[10:55] {Threei} I have them in both TTR and MPP
[10:55] {BillyD} tight
[10:56] {BillyD} right
[10:57] {Threei} you know your intuition kicks in when yiou just glance at the chart and say I like it or I hate it
[10:57] {Threei} we had two perfect examples today... AIG 19 break and ILMN .80 break
[10:58] {Threei} 19 break becomes valid trade
[10:59] {Threei} stop under 18.90
[10:59] {jfjf64} aig playin 19 song again
[10:59] {Threei} market time maybe not the best
[10:59] {Threei} but 10 cents risk?
[10:59] {magoo} in
[11:00] {Threei} it didn't break yet
[11:00] {jfjf64} comon buyers 19 19 19
[11:00] {nemo} since when is that important to Magoo?
[11:00] {magoo} aggressibve
[11:00] {nemo} no volume though
[11:01] {Threei} in this case I wouldn't go for anything but actual break
[11:01] {BillyD} ELN may break 8
[11:01] {magoo} ok out -.02
[11:09] {jfjf64} the 3rd time we hit this 19 we bust down the wall mr. vad
[11:09] {Threei} don't know... have to see how it happens
[11:09] {jfjf64} agree
[11:10] {jfjf64} get ready
[11:10] {ese} compx is starting to look like a rounded botom to me......which you usually means from a tech analysis point of will really take off at some point later in the day
[11:11] {ese} you usually means?
[11:11] {ese} usually means....
[11:11] {ese} yes/no?
[11:12] {ese} nahhhh forget's starting to straighten out
[11:12] {Threei} in general yes, ese... it's just that market loses will to live

[13:17] {Threei} - Exec: "Were very disappointed, as are many Californians, that California has taken the unfortunate step of issuing IOUs in lieu of its payments to some businesses and individuals, said Lisa Stevens, head of Community Banking for Wells Fargo in California. Wells Fargo has a long history of taking extraordinary measures to help our customers and will accept registered warrants from our customers, but only for a limited time, to allow them time to make other arrangements. We are reluctant to take this step, but are doing so to help our customers who are not at fault and with the expectation that the Legislature and Governor will complete the budget within days. We join all Californians in urging our Legislature and our Governor to take the appropriate steps as soon as possible to resolve this budget crisis."
