Our today's Catch of the Day is a pure beauty. Not only it's based on one of my personal favorite setups, it's also quite a way to play it - in trader-speak it's called "fading the setup." In normal English, it's trading AGAINST the setup, using the signs of its invalidation. Read on, it will be very clear in a minute.

CAT formed nice and clean Cup and Handle on intraday chart (see the arrows pointing to both). Now, as you can see a handle is incomplete - right side of it never broke the "rim" at $79.70. One of the necessary conditions of C&H break is price holding above the bottom of the handle - $79.55 in our case. Thus, break of .55 constitutes setup invalidation - and can be used as a trigger for the play in opposite direction. That's what we did shorting CAT at $79.55 with 10 cents stop (see the chart for the details). Being a lunch time play, we covered our short for 1:2 risk/reward; at the moment of writing it's trading at 79.10, for nice juicy 1:4 with change. Second screenshot has been taken an hour and half later, to show the continuation of the move.
