[10:51] -Vad......look at slw
[10:51] shot up
[10:51] after we sold'
[10:51] been the best free thing on net for 3 yrs running
01[10:51]  that's fine samire
01[10:52]  I play what I can read, and that move into resistance was what I could read at the moment
[10:52] noone could have predicted that eur move samire
01[10:52]  look at the 1 min chart in retrospect:
01[10:53]  nasty drop from .90 to under .50,
01[10:53]  red bar after red bar,
01[10:53]  no slightest atempt to bounce, killing bottom-fishers
[10:53] i c
01[10:53]  look how perfectly we go it on double boottom - it RETROSPECT :)
01[10:53]  in
[10:54] yes
01[10:54]  but double bottom is an immediate setup, so to speak,
01[10:54]  in a sense that it allows you to read the next move, and not much beyond that
01[10:54]  holding for more or finding next entry would require separate independent setup
01[10:55]  again, look at the same chart and see the resistance around .70:
01[10:55]  9:30 to 9:40 roughly
01[10:55]  bottom of the drops
01[10:56]  broken later around 9:45
01[10:56]  and becoming a resistance
01[10:56]  so, as immediate setup double bottom gave us target
01[10:57]  and I played setup as I saw and could read it
[10:57] great
01[10:57]  thus no regrets
01[10:57]  I mean, look at it this way:
01[10:57]  there are about 10,000 stocks,
01[10:57]  many of them make moves that you never see or never get a chance to play ot can't read
01[10:58]  there is whole universe of moves you don't participate in, for whatever reason
01[10:58]  this is jist one of them :)
[10:58] yes

[14:58] ...am hearing the greek austerity vote is 7 edt...can anyone confirm?
[14:58] a.m.
01[14:58]  there are a few steps to it ron
01[14:58]  let me find it
01[14:59]  Timeline for Greek parliament votes on five-year austerity and privization plans on June 29th and 30th
01[14:59]  - There will be two votes in the Greek parliament on the five-year medium-term government austerity plan, the so-called Medium-Term Fiscal Strategy (MTFS).
01[14:59]  - First will come a vote on the general plan on Wednesday morning ET (Wednesday afternoon, local time), then a vote on the law to implement the measures on Thursday morning ET (Thursday afternoon local time).
01[14:59]  - If the parliament votes no (analysts see a 30% probability), the 12B tranche of the EU/IMF would be blocked and Greece would be left grappling for funding in a political vacuum pending a likely general election.
01[14:59]  - Yes votes will shift the immediate focus will shift to the Eurogroup meeting on July 3rd. The Eurogroup will look to define a three-year package effectively removing the need for Greece to access bond markets before 2015. While there is no final number as of yet, a package of 85-120B seems likely split between new EU/IMF loans worth 40-70B, Greek privatization receipts of around 25B and private creditor participation of 20-30B.

[15:53] La Penn will likely come to the fore in France also

Jun 27 2011

Started day with a few stops, and even though caught some wins later on, still finished day in red.

Session Time: Mon Jun 27 00:00:00 2011
[08:45] {davd} gm all
[08:45] {Threei}  morning davd
[08:47] {nemo} should be quiet week...big holiday coming up, earnings don't start until the 11th
[08:47] {Threei}  unless Greece thing heats up
[08:47] {nemo} yeah, if we could get a couple of big bank failures back to the good old days of FAZ ;)
[08:51] {Threei}  (GR) Greece Gov't Spokesperson: To begin state asset sales in two-three months
[08:51] {Threei}  - Sales to begin once state agency is set up
[08:51] {Threei}  ** FX dealers noted that last week a journalist asked EU Juncker about the Greek privatization plan by suggesting to him that - under the terms - Greece had to effectively sell an asset every 10 days...and given that they haven't sold anything in over a year how does he expect them to do this. Juncker's answer: "They will have to do so."
[09:04] {Threei}  German Dep Fin Min Asmussen: The euro is in danger of losing legitimacy
[09:04] {Threei}  that's a laugh
[09:11] {RonS} gm...3i, ever heard of or been to Red Fish Blue Fish?
[09:12] {Threei}  Ron :)
[09:12] {Threei}  no
[09:12] {Threei}  well, walked by
[09:12] {Threei}  haven't been to

[09:16] {Threei}  it's more like a kiosk on the shore
[09:17] {Threei}  you come in, stand in line, get your food in a paper tray or plate, sit at the wooden table or (more likely) stand anywhere around and eat with plastic fork

[09:23] {Threei}  oh yeah
[09:24] {Threei}  5 years in, I still discover new places, attractions etc
[09:24] {RonS} quite amazing for such a small town, special place imo
[09:25] {Threei}  very
[09:25] {Threei}  and small is relative... it's spread out big time
[09:26] {Threei}  most tourist never venture out of core, and even thatg can keep them busy for many days
[09:27] {Threei}  slight gap up slowly dissipates
[09:28] {Threei}  RIMM, spread is too wide for now but if tightens and consolidates close to .60, short on breakdown of this support is in order
[09:28] {Threei}  uhhu
[09:28] {Threei}  forget it
[09:29] {ese} gm
[09:29] {Threei}  ese :)
[09:29] {Threei}  also, Ron, among what (well, who) to see here are ese, patience and pragmatic :)
[09:29] {RonS} @businessinsider Apple Will Have TWO New iPhones In September

[14:24] {samire} be
[14:25] {samire} it did it reach 39.10 ?????
[14:25] {Threei}  As the price moves in our favor, full exit or partial exits are taken at the levels that we call risk/reward ratios. In this case, 1:1 will be reached around $10.10 (10 cents initial risk to 10 cents profit). Scalpers take full exit at this level; day traders take first partial and trail their stop under the breakeven point. Next partial is taken around 1:2, etc. Most often our partials consist of 1/2, 1/4 and 1/4.
[14:25] {Threei}  samire... do you have charts??

Jun 23 2011

The twists and turns of a trading day... We started with nice win, proceeded with three stops and activity died, so it looked for a while like it was going to end up as losing day. At 13:16 I formulated the strategy from then on (see the comment), and we had to wait till 15:00 for our moment. 2 quick trades for 40 and 30 cents decisively turned day into very nice profitable one. Oh, and see the discussion from 13:57 on the role of inactivity in trading (Taoist Trader course readers know this and many more applications of the Wu Wei principle).

[13:57] {Threei}  in trading, skill to stay inactive is as valuable if not more, than skill to act right
[13:57] {Threei}  trading is not unlike hunting from ambush
[13:58] {Threei}  you sdit in the ditch and wait for your prey to come in the range
[13:58] {larisa} is not unlike = is like ? :)
[13:58] {Threei}  yes
[13:58] {Threei}  you don't chase the anthelope, it runs faster than you do
[13:59] {Threei}  you wait for them to walk by, pick the right one and shoot it
[13:59] {Threei}  best trades are not those that you seeked actively, turning every stone
[14:00] {Threei}  best trades are those that came to you themselves, and screamed at you from the screen "take the money!"
[14:01] {Threei}  I amtempted to say the same goes for women but larisa will kill me
