Jul 12 2010

Not very active but 100% winning day with no stops. BP behaved the best for us on both long and short side. Chart is for the long play - consolidation after the pullback, break of resistance starts nice bounce. Due to lunch time we played it for 1:2 but it yielded much bigger move (providing us with nice short later on)

Session Start: Mon Jul 12 00:32:29 2010

[09:26] {Threei}  MAGS Magal Security Systems (USA) Receives a Letter of Support From its Principal Shareholder
[09:26] {Threei}  hmmm
[09:26] {Threei}  magoo, what is it you are not telling us
[09:29] {shorty} I wonder if ese is still partying after Spain won?
[09:29] {Threei}  for a week, yes
[09:29] {Threei}  in Whistler
[09:32] {Threei} Long Setup:  LVS  .30 break
[09:32] {Threei}  invalidated
[09:32] {Threei}  but on radar still
[09:33] {nemo} damn, was thinking .25 break
[09:33] {Threei}  ugh... jumped
[09:33] {Threei}  yeah, me too
[09:34] {Threei}  but it wasn't a break, it was teleportation
[09:34] {strider} BP selloff
[09:34] {nemo} it closed above the morning low, woulda' been .10 stop
[09:34] {nemo} that previous candle
[09:35] {Threei}  BP, let's let it frop under .40
[09:35] {magoo} i caught it, out dime
[09:35] {magoo}  .46
[09:35] {strider} frop away, BP!
[09:35] {Threei}  formally, .50 break is setup, but it fails this kind more often than works
[09:36] {Threei}  I'd prefer to look for entery on hard shakeout
[09:36] {Threei}  most likely under .30
[09:36] {nemo} VMW
[09:37] {Threei}  LVS, dive under .30 gets us interested again
[09:37] {Threei}  BP got away
[09:38] {magoo} BP prob goes 37 today
[09:39] {Threei}  LVS under .30, double bottom on recross if holding .20
[09:40] {Threei}  1:1
[09:40] {nemo} I think fcx bottoms .15-.20 area
[09:41] {Threei}  BP starts looking like momo candidate
[09:41] {Threei}  let's hunt for pullback entry
[09:41] {Threei}  around .60 - .70 most likely
[09:41] {nemo} nope on fcx
[09:42] {dino} lfc?
[09:42] {nemo} crissakes vmw
[09:42] {magoo} APC launched
[09:42] {Threei}  LVS 1:2
[09:42] {Threei}  no news that I see on LFC
[09:43] {strider} thks vad, LVS
[09:43] {Threei}  :)
[09:43] {Threei}  come on BP, let us in
[09:43] {nemo} looks like fcx is building a base around .20 with a low of .08
[09:43] {magoo} no kidding
[09:44] {magoo} BP i mean
[09:44] {Threei}  ok, it's trying to shake out late entries now
[09:44] {magoo} FCX looks like another leg down
[09:44] {magoo} 63.70
[09:44] {nemo} bp should see resistance here, look for a break above .03 possibly
[09:44] {Threei}  yeah, not delighted by FCX
[09:44] {nemo} if it loses support goes to .88 area
[09:45] {Threei}  materials are interestingly weak
[09:45] {Threei}  FCX, X, AA
[09:46] {nemo} they whacked it out of the park last week...$ is stronger
[09:46] {Threei}  one more sharp dive please, BP
[09:46] {dino} kss hl l .75
[09:46] {Threei}  36 break is valida play on BP, just remember what momo is
[09:47] {Threei}  risk is much higher than normal trades
[09:47] {Threei}  smaller shares, wider stop
[09:47] {nemo} fcx held
[09:47] {Threei}  technicals mean less, momentum is the name of the game
[09:47] {Threei}  ideally, it drops to about .70 before it becomes technical entry
[09:48] {Threei}  but if holding .85 and breaks 26, can try for momo
[09:48] {nemo} breaks "26"
[09:48] {Threei}  36
[09:49] {magoo} id like see bp .50 area
[09:49] {dino} lfc sm l break of .50
[09:49] {magoo} and hold
[09:49] {Threei}  ok, elimination of chasers takes place, good
[09:49] {Threei}  that's exactly why you never chase momo
[09:49] {nemo} only shots?
[09:49] {magoo} fcx dive coming
[09:49] {Threei}  it's brutal when you are late
[09:50] {nemo} yeah, had that experience
[09:50] {nemo} can't get enough vaseline
[09:50] {Threei}  and it adds insult to injury by eventually coming back and climbing ever higher after destroying you
[09:51] {Threei}  .80 break is first try
[09:51] {Threei}  stop under .70
[09:52] {magoo} jpm good sh if futes fail
[09:53] {magoo} apc bouncer vad?

[09:58] {nemo} bp break .75?
[09:59] {nemo} big offer
[09:59] {nemo} hold .65 of course
[09:59] {Threei}  it's a valid trigger although I'd really prefer one more final selloff,
[09:59] {Threei}  killing hopeful longs ultimately,
[09:59] {nemo} .65 was open
[09:59] {Threei}  so early momo chasers totally give up
[10:00] {nemo} and just above .50
[10:00] {Threei}  with this entry, just be ready for multiple tries
[10:02] {nemo} took half at .84

[10:12] {shorty} ty Threei
[10:13] {Threei}  LVS, loss .20 is most probably next step

[10:27] {nemo} yeah, thinking about that too
[10:27] {shorty} I know, I was thinking of going back in at .81-.85
[10:27] {nemo} debating
[10:27] {jfjf64} bp  gettin  ready  to  launch
[10:27] {magoo} yea imo

[10:36] {nemo} market headed up
[10:36] {strider} 1/4 X .49

[10:43] {Threei}  kind of not here nor there
[10:43] {Threei}  arbitrary point
[10:43] {nemo} I'll set the stop at .10
[10:43] {shorty} I went with you....aggresive entry I guess.
[10:43] {nemo} might as well let it "breathe" as Vad would say
[10:44] {nemo} still strong against the market

[10:52] {strider} long VZ .49
[11:02] {Threei}  can't find any decent short trigger
[11:02] {Threei}  FCX .50 looked like it
[11:03] {Threei}  hesitated for some reason...
[11:03] {Threei}  my fault, it was a valid one
[11:03] {jfjf64} i say
[11:03] {jfjf64} lol
06[11:04] * Threei slaps jfjf64 around a bit with a large sense of relief

[11:10] {nemo} ?
[11:11] {Threei}  probabkly
[11:12] {Threei}  see, the problem is,
[11:12] {Threei}  we are not getting strong continuation on breakdowns
[11:12] {Threei}  it';s a very slow drift down with spikes
[11:12] {strider} Got T'storms coming thru here.  Shutting down shortly.
[11:12] {Threei}  shorting breakdowns is not really easy way to profit,
[11:12] {Threei}  and bounces do not provide clear triggers
[11:13] {dino} cf sm l .00
[11:15] {Threei}  wow BP
[11:15] {shorty} hmmmm
[11:15] {_khaln} DISCA  ? any setup?
[11:16] {Threei}  no really... drifing with market
[11:16] {_khaln} thx
[11:16] {nemo} might look for a pullback in .65 area then break above .70 to confirm IH&S
[11:16] {nemo} break on volume of course
[11:17] {Threei}  it's a valid pattern, I just don't thinkj market is ready fo a bounce
[11:18] {Threei}  and DISCA is not likely to do anything withut market help
[11:18] {nemo} not as dumb as I look
[11:20] {larisa} how dumb people look? any specifics?

[11:24] {Threei}  Apple Inc Consumer Reports has determined that it would not recommend the iPhone 4
[11:24] {Threei}  - Report cites the hardware with the iPhone 4's antenna and reception.
[11:24] {Threei}  - "When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone's lower left sidean easy thing, especially for leftiesthe signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you're in an area with a weak signal. Due to this problem, we can't recommend the iPhone 4."
[11:25] {Threei}  Our findings call into question the recent claim by Apple that the iPhone 4's signal-strength issues were largely an optical illusion caused by faulty software that "mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength."
[11:25] {Threei}  - The tests also indicate that AT&T's network might not be the primary suspect in the iPhone 4's much-reported signal woes.
