Apr 05 2010

Nice profitable day requiring strong discpline. Started with two nice wins on CIEN and FCX, then had to stay away from numerous shakeouts as markert remained locked. Only discretionary niche plays worked for those whose style matched them: news play on RINO, momo on ARQL and most of all on UNIS. Skill to play only when there is what to play with is invaluable.

[12:57] {Threei} - The Unitractrange of 1mL syringes is the world's first and only known syringe that allows operators to control the speed of passive (automatic) needle retraction directly from the patient's body into the barrel of the syringe where it is locked in place.
[12:57] {Threei} - Primary target markets of the products include healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical companies and patients who self-administer prescription medication.
[12:57] {Threei} - Unilife will now immediately file an additional 510(k) with the FDA seeking clearance for the Unitract1mL Tuberculin (TB) Syringe. FDA clearance of the Unitract1mL TB Syringe, which is a variant of the Insulin syringe product, will further expand the ability of the Company to market its range of safety syringes to U.S. healthcare facilities.
[12:58] {shorty} If ZION fails to pass 23.18, you think it might be a valid set up on the short side?

[13:02] {shorty} .14 is my exit
[13:02] {Threei} above it you mean
[13:02] {Threei} .14 is resistance itself

[13:07] {Threei} hey, my job becomes easier by day
[13:07] {shorty} It's your fault if I got out too early.:D
[13:08] {Threei} you find a trade, you structure it, you execute it, you profit from it - and I accept the thanks
[13:08] {shorty} lol
[13:08] {Threei} o how do I carry this burden...
[13:09] {shorty} Watching your video, you sound like a stressed out individual too Vad.
[13:09] {Threei} do I?
[13:09] {shorty} It helped seeing someone calm and composed
[13:10] {Threei} lol, you reminded me an e-mail from a guy who watched me trading live in Bahamas
[13:10] {Threei} wait, I'll find it... he used a funny comparison
[13:12] {Threei} The most amazing part of the whole experience was, you looked more relaxed trading than I do eating my sandwich - and trust me, eating sandwich is NOT a straining activity for me!
[13:13] {shorty} LOL
[13:13] {dptl} lol
[13:13] {gen} :)
[13:13] {fernp} lol
[13:14] {Threei} read 4th testimonial at our homepage
[13:14] {Threei} and the last
[13:16] {Threei} nemo
[13:16] {nemo} Vad
[13:16] {Threei} - indirect bidders take 37.47% of competitive bids with 49.67% allotted at the high
[13:16] {Threei} - direct bidders take 7.5%, dealers take 55.02%
[13:17] {Threei} can you interpret it?
[13:17] {Threei} you seem to get a handle on this
[13:18] {nemo} bid to cover good, indirect bidders not "good" but don't know what percentage indirect bidders bought last time or what the draw was last time
[13:18] {nemo} market not reacting...whaddya' think about RIMM triple bottom?
[13:18] {Threei} median 1.65%, low 1.571%
[13:19] {nemo} indirect bidders are what's important
[13:19] {Threei} - Bid to cover at the Oct reopening was 3.12 with an average of 2.35 over the last 5 reopenings
[13:19] {Threei} - Indirect bidders took 44% of competitive bids prior with 14% allotted at the high
[13:19] {nemo} definitely not as good as before
[13:19] {Threei} ok, ty

[13:24] {Threei} I'll continue asking nemo if no one minds :)
[13:24] {larisa} I knew you can not read.
[13:24] {Threei} have I ever even tried to create opposite impression?
[13:25] {Threei} I am not a reader, and I a writer
[13:26] {larisa}
[13:26] {larisa} a bit easier
[13:26] {larisa} but still need to read :)
[13:26] {Threei} tell you what
[13:27] {Threei} when you find an explanation that can fit on cereal box, and with similar degree of difficulty...
[13:27] {larisa} yes, will spend the rest of my life looking :)
[13:28] {Threei} ty in advance
[13:28] {Threei} 'cause my favorite level of brain activity is "re-read my pager... thought a lot"...
[13:30] {larisa} more you know, harder your life becomes. And you can not actually undo it and go back to being stupid and happy. So stay this way vad :)
[13:31] {Threei} I can
[13:31] {Threei} trust me, I can dumb myself down in a blink of eye
[13:32] {Threei} not very long distance call either
[13:32] {larisa} teach me then, i am tired and want to be happy :)
[13:32] {shorty} wrong larisa, a daily dose of magic mushrooms and a bottle of rye a day can undo a lot.
[13:32] {larisa} lol
[13:32] {Threei} it's all about killing brain cells en masse
[13:34] {shorty} exactly Threei, I choose to do it gradually. Slowly crawling towards dementia.
[13:35] {Threei} defending yourself from people in white gowns
[13:36] {shorty} I worked in a Alzheimer's ward once, they seemed very happy actually.
[13:38] {shorty} Though it was hard on the families that would visit.
[13:38] {Les} had me drink for the day. we in anything?
[13:39] {Les} I'll take that as a negative
[13:40] {shorty} I am out for the day, I think. Had my two good trades of the day. If Vad calls something I might join, but done shopping.
[13:40] {Les} who's killing brain cells en masse faster than me?
[13:40] {shorty} Myself or Threei, but I think you guys might have time in your corner.
[13:44] {Threei} UNIS...

[13:51] {strider} Harley-Davidson target raised to $36 from $32 at RBC Capital
[13:51] {strider} RBC raised its price target for Harley-Davidson after channel checks indicated demand improved in March. The firm expects shares to outperform as visibility improved and reiterates an Outperform rating on the stock with an increased price target.
[13:52] {strider} hogwash.
[13:52] {shorty} Threei, I have found another use for the Market Muse cd.
[13:52] {shorty} I use it on long car trips to shut my kids up.
[13:52] {Threei} nice... I knew it was a real bargain
[13:54] {shorty} Seriously though Vad, your course is great. I took other courses, and this one is near the top.

[13:55] {nemo} inverse H&S on spy and qs, might be the run
[13:59] {Threei} I dunno... market lately doesn't show late day runs
[13:59] {nemo} true
[13:59] {Threei} instead it adopted new modus operandi:
[13:59] {Threei} selling into middle of the day range,
[13:59] {Threei} weak buying at the very end,
[13:59] {Threei} then big gap,
[13:59] {Threei} run up,
[13:59] {Threei} consolidation
[14:00] {Threei} and whole cycle repeat
[14:01] {Threei} of course these things do not stay the same for very long,
[14:01] {Threei} and everything can change as we approach this 11K magnet and nerves get shot
[14:01] {Threei} but so far I'd rather stay with gther pattern we observe, than guess when and how it changes
[14:02] {Threei} also, Tiger Woods is about to start pres conference
[14:02] {Threei} market stops trading I guess
[14:02] {Threei} (that was sarcasm)

[14:56] {Threei} see it staying in place?
[14:56] {Threei} running nowhere very fast?
[14:56] {Les} damn. not even tiger could do it
[14:56] {Threei} look what pushing gets you:
[14:57] {Threei} you incur unnecessary loss in MON,
[14:57] {Threei} start hunting fot something to cover it,
[14:57] {Threei} in the same environment of non-moving market, notice
[14:58] {Threei} luckily your next find, PMI, works,
[14:58] {Threei} if it didn't which was just as likely,
[14:58] {Threei} you woyuld have looked at ruined day now
[14:58] {Threei} instead of keeping easy morning profits
[14:58] {Les} lol next time I'll shut up...
[14:58] {Threei} now, have a lok at intraday SPY
[14:59] {Threei} see early move up, and then absolute nothng?
[14:59] {Threei} see where easy money was, and where struggle started?
[14:59] {Threei} don't just shut up... learn
[15:00] {Threei} general opportunities ended after that morning move,
[15:00] {Threei} what left was special niche oportunities
[15:01] {Threei} if you are momo trader for instance, there was UNIS
[15:01] {Threei} if you are news trader, there was RINO
[15:01] {Threei} see where I am going with this?
[15:01] {dino} home
[15:02] {Threei} lol
[15:02] {Threei} think of it in terms of "official" calls and discretionary ones
[15:02] {Threei} that'll help with this distinction of general opportunities vs niche ones
[15:02] {Les} wow 7.50 UNIS b/o was beautiful
[15:11] {Threei} be back in 20
[15:13] {dino} jtp

[15:35] {shorty} LVS paper
[15:36] {Threei} plus, trail one more useful skill - staying away in uncertain times
[15:36] {Threei} switching to paper, seeing if there is something you can play conasistently,
[15:36] {Threei} then going back to real money in this kind of situations
[15:36] {Threei} raises great self-control
[15:37] {shorty} Stoped out .29 LVS
[15:37] {Threei} skill to stay away will serve you as well as skill to enter and exit
[15:38] {shorty} Staying away in uncertain times....very usefull skill Threei. You are correct. I would have taken a loss.
