- Broad based market rally is led by Services, Healthcare, and Basic Materials, while the defensive Utilities sector is lagging the gainers. Bullish momentum in travel related names carried over from yesterday along with strength in Energy. KO, CMG, and IBM are the laggards in the SP500 in the wake of their soft earnings reports.
Fixed-Income: Treasuries reversed the overnight gains as risk-on sentiment in US has shifted some flows in favor of equities. 2-10 spread has widened marginally for the 3rd day. European periphery stress in Greece is back, with the yield on the 10-yr up 35bps at 7.45%.

- 10-yr: +4bps at 2.22%
- 30-yr: +4bps at 3.00%
- 2-10 spread: +3bps at 1.87%
Energy:
- WTI Dec crude oil $82.64; Crude in consolidation mode for the past 3 days after hitting its multi-month lows below $80 last week. Comments from Algeria Oil Min earlier today hinting OPEC could take action to respond to falling prices.
Metals:
- Spot Gold $1,248/oz; Gold hit a high of $1,255 in early trade - a 6-week high - and now up $60 from the lows in the span of 2 weeks. The rebound is in part the function of lower USD, with downward inflection in the greenback against both EUR and JPY coming in the first week of the month.
- Spot Silver $17.51/oz; Silver hit 1-week high above $17.65 in early US trade before retreating to low $17.50s. $17.52 technically significant as the overnight high.
- Dec Copper $3.03/lb; Base metals are generally higher, tracking the overall market rally while shrugging the rebound in USD. Copper is at the highest level since last Wednesday.
